Online Shopping

I still remember when online "anything" was introduced as the greatest thing that happened in the universe.  It was supposed to save us time and money and how are we doing about 40 years later? This last weekend, I went to look in stores for my size of jeans.  Popular size I thought since I am not on the slim side.  I couldn't find my size.  I thought, well, maybe they are doing it this way to encourage more people to shop online.  I went online and there my frustration started to mount. I went to two popular sites and neither one had my size in the style I wanted, one of them would not ship outside the US to Canada or anywhere else.  I thought, "that's odd why is it on the world wide web and not shipping other than in the US?  I only found that out at checkout after all that time.  Anyway I wish them lots of sales.  The same brand had stores in Canada, shortage of sizes or of styles.  What is going on the online stage?  What kind o...

The Rotteness of Pain (Poem: Deeper than Wounds)

The gravity of pain and the rottenness of pain and no one really understand except the individual who suffers it.  Your pain might be more severe than my pain.  Only one in history has suffered the most acute pain.  Indescribable by anyone and yet everyone experience it at least at the onset of life. There is ugliness in pain as well as beauty.  Without pain how would you know there is something wrong.  Pain can signal healing.  You have to deal with the painful things of life and plead for healing with all your might.  God hears everyone's prayers, just ask him.  He did it for me and I am sure his boundless love will reach to you as well. My pain came mostly to me through people's words and my owns.  The pain of words is devastating and I can't urge you enough...Be careful with them.  I attempt to be careful, but every once in a while I have to catch myself.  It breaks my heart to see so many parents who are careless with their w...

Hold on to life loosely

As humans and those who are victims of mental illness we like to hold on to anything that would bring us joy or hope.  To things, people or paychecks. Anything that appears to be like a buoy of life Holding loosely to life may avoid heartaches in  relationships or in a job. Just consider this... Hold to Life Bernard Demaere   I have learned over the years, That life must be held by only two fingers. Or even, rest over one’s own open hands. For the stronger you hold unto it, The harder the pain, That comes with it. God is in control, And He is God, And He should be In control, Of the light And the dark, Of pain, And healing, Of death, And life, Yet the choice Is yours. Will you let Him Be in control Or not, Of Your Destiny?

Imaginary Imagery

So many times I wonder how what I read in people's faces or even in my own thoughts is actually what really happens. Am I really mad for the right reason or is it all in my imagination. What about you?  Are you really seeing what you are supposed to see or you have to reconsider something? Maybe you missed something in the context of what they were saying. Do we understand everyone perfectly?  Do we communicate perfectly? Let's revaluate!  Give them another chance. Say no to that divorce or that fight. Is it worth it? Here is a poem about Imagination: Imagination Bernard Demaere   Image, Aviation, Imagination. The bird flew from the cage. Freedom took wings, To worlds of dreams. Making anything Into something. A bird can be caged, A cage, a bird, Have your heard? The bird, When he flew, From the cage, High above. Above your neck, That’s your head, He never came back, Till he found something, In the worlds of dreams, In ...

My Personal View on Physical Exercise

Of course, you all know or we all know how important physical exercise is . And yet, it's challenging for us who have depression or mental illness to get motivated to do it.  It's like we are carrying all that extra baggage in our mind and spirit and we just can't be bothered.  If you have been there you understand perfectly what I am talking about.  In fact, maybe the title scared you a little. I know!  A month ago I would have rather talked about sitting down with my phone on the web than physical exercise.  This post probably wouldn't have existed. Just lately, since I enjoy walking, I have done it for longer, like up to 10,000 steps but this morning my balloon got deflated pretty quick when I stepped on the scale and found out I had gained weight. Now I never heard more about weight gain and weight loss than in North America.  I might be wrong but where I come from in Belgium people are not so obsessed with it as we are here.  They just try to live...

Addiction and Worry

Now as innocent as worry and anxiety are, they are destructive.  It's a form of mental illness and even a fixation on something you want to have control over but can't. An addiction of any kind is a fixation.  I have been addicted for over 40 years and I can tell you it's a fixation. A fixation or addiction needs to be distracted from and reprogrammed by changing values and quality of life. The thought pattern has to be totally changed and renewed and this takes time. Any addiction needs to be taken seriously in order to stop.  You want to stop smoking, alright, well as long as you treat it like a joke you will never start getting over it.  In every addiction you have to ask yourself simple questions like "Why do I want to quit?  The reason has to be important enough that you will want to change.  It's often an ethical related reason or a moral reason. If you know someone who is addicted to anything just don't leave them on their own.  Encourage them o...

Frustration forces change

So far I have appeared to have all the answer about mental illness, but here I have to humble myself and admit that frustration can push me in a corner at times.  Frustration can indeed be very frustrating to deal with because we just don't have all the answer to people's problem. So I read some about frustration online and they all seem to agree mostly in business that it comes when a goal or goals cannot be reached.  Actually frustration I have found in some cases can be really good for you or for a business.  It forces you with much squirming and twisting and pushing out of that dark hole you are in.  It forces you to look outside the box from a different angle.  It's painful, I know.  I deal with it all the time.  With me though it might have to do with my expectations of myself.  Maybe too high!  Perfectionist usually can be very frustrated.  To further the problem, this world pushes the expectation of perfection to its highest degr...
