The Inconvenience of Restrictions (Happy Canada Day!)
Restriction is not a new word for most of us. We don't like to be restricted but as we go through this pandemic we have to be for our sake and the safety of others. I get all that, I agree with all that. With me though, it is just the endless list of restrictions against us that wears me out.
One more restriction happened today. It is very inconvenient. Sometimes though, I wonder if it is even necessary and against whom are we really fighting.
Are we fighting for our privacy or democracy? It seems that by those restriction things are being taken away from us a little at the time.
God help us to sort it out. What a mess we are in when all we have to focus on is a mess. I know it becomes overwhelming, especially when you read the News media. Nations putting restrictions on others and putting restrictions on themselves.
Restrictions, I grew up with restrictions. Restrictions are not fun.
Let's face it! All of us at this point could do with a little bit less restrictions. No amount of protesting will bring freedom to anyone but bring on more restrictions on our personal lives. Rebellion is not the answer. We just have to be patient. I think the number #1 reason that car accidents happen is impatience. I am not making this official but listening to the news about accidents this seems to be repeated often. Why do we go through a red light? Why do we pass someone else's car at the last minute?
So all this to say that restriction in our lives whether they be mental or physical are necessary for our protection and even though they are very inconvenient let's bite the bullet and endure the hardship for our sake and for the sake of others.
Today is our national day in Canada July 1
So I thought that all my friends in Canada and abroad would enjoy this poem about our country. Enjoy!
O Canada Glorious and Wild
Canada has its own charm,
But not as you would think,
Canada has a call to the wild,
The wilderness is its charm.
You will enjoy its roughness,
Its toughness through and through,
There’s no one that will stop you,
From North to South, its yours.
Canada has its own charm,
West to East has it all,
From cities to the Great Lakes,
It has it wild even through the malls.
No one knows you like a Canadian,
Your neighbour could be at your front door
He could also be in the great outdoors,
You are welcome by them all.
