What about loneliness?

Can we each be honest with our self and admit that in the midst of this pandemic we have been feeling lonely?  I have lots of times, not because I didn't meet with people because I did at the right distance.  But because everyone seems to be in their own world and worrying about different things.

There are ways to overcome loneliness though and one of them come to mind...It is...

1) Be a friend
Not as easy as it seems because when you feel lonely all you want to do is be by yourself some more and the vicious circle take you for a wild ride into depression.  You must force yourself to go and meet people. Although someone could feel lonely in a crowd.  A lot of it has to do with the expectations we put on other people who might feel as lonely as we are.
A lot of our problems could be eliminated if our expectations were a little lower, I think.

2) Do something creative, any hobby will do.  Anything to get your mind distracted in a constructive way.  Work on your hobbies at any age and when retirement comes you will be ready to face it.

3) Get a pet
Not any pet.  One that you enjoy that can keep you company every once in a while.  Yes, they are messy but for goodness sake don't deprive yourself of pleasure for that one reason.  I am telling you this because all the pets I was allowed to have were a turtle and a few goldfish.  Of course, not as messy than a cat.
Do what you like but your mental state is very important and if it matters to you then you will do whatever it takes...even care for your pet.
This is our beautiful long-hair cat- Cousa
We have had her for almost one year now

In conclusion, loneliness can be your friend and also your worse enemy.  It just depends how you handle it.  It can work for you or against you.
I hope this helps you! I have another poem for you about our cat.
Have a good day! See you tomorrow.

My Cat behind the Glass

Bernard Demaere

     My cat,

Was behind the glass,

Watching the birds,

Flying by,

So close

She could

Have almost.

Tasted them.

Were they teasing,

Or just flying

To an unknown,

Destination?

My cat behind,

The glass window,

Could have almost,

Tasted them.
