The Power of Fathers

Fathers are valuable beings in children's formation not just the mothers.
They set the right values in a home and the standards of moral.  They are much needed.
I am glad I had a dad and when I look around I am glad my dad stack around all his life.  So many fathers have left the coop for whatever reason.  I can honestly say that it hurts my heart to see single mothers looking after their children without a father.
My dad was dedicated to his family and we always had food on the table.
He had to be very busy because of his business in body shop and that I miss, the interaction with him on the emotional level.  I think maybe my children missed that too.  I urge every father to be there for their children, not just physically but emotionally.  It will save them a lot of regrets and sorrow later.
I wish all the fathers out there a wonderful day with their family whether you are in a country that celebrates Father's day or not.
Here is a poem that describes the emotional life of a life of a child who has a father who spend time with them.  It is in my mind it is all imaginary and the opposite of what I could have had. My father never saw this poem. I still have it through my Heavenly Father.

Snap Shot Memories: My Father’s Day Poem

By Bernard Demaere

Snap shot memories…

When in the sunrise

You picked me up

And swung me around…

Just because,

You loved to hear me giggle

And shout: “Again, Daddy!”

Until I couldn’t laugh anymore!

Snap shot memories…

When I used to come sit on your lap,

To tell my precious stories

You would tell me yours…

From a book,

And I would fall asleep,

Almost that is…

Just to say: “One more Daddy!”

And at last, I was asleep.

Snap shot memories…

When I hurt myself, and you were there

With your arms open wide,

Ready to hold me tight

And speak words of comfort.

Just long enough,

To hear you say: “I love you, my child!”

I would jump off and go and play again

As if nothing happened…

Sometimes…who knows maybe nothing had happened

Except of course us, being together,

My heart was just saying: “One more Daddy!”

One more hug…one more hug from you!”

Snap shot memories,

Soon, midday shall come and springtime shall bloom,

I will grow wings…and my very own family,

Again those memories, happy memories

Will be recalled and imprinted in the young hearts

In the young happy hearts of those who will call us by name

Mommy…Daddy,

Just because…they will want…

Snap shot memories, happy memories…

Thank you Daddy… for the memories!
