Improving the Good in you

The subjects I choose for this blog are often not very deep and small but a little in one's life can do a lot and change the course of your life in a big way.  You find this out in two roads diverging from each other in a small way but they end up leading to two different cities one thousand kilometers from each another.
In dealing with life in general and because of my mental illness I have learned to make things simpler and I have actually been encouraged to work in that direction by other people.
One of the difficulties I have had is to meet the expectations of perfectionists and consequently I frustrate them unwilling quite often.
So the best I can do for anybody is to work on my good attributes and abilities and make them even better.  I have learned to just make my shiny side even shinier and really polish it brighter.

For example, if you are a somewhat patient person work on being really good at it and at least you will have one of the quality that the world seeks the most after.  As I look around in waiting rooms and other facilities I can see that it is very rare to see someone who is truly patient.  That is one quality I like to improve on, but it takes patience!

One other thing I like to improve on is the quality of my communication with other people.  I look at every quality and ability I have as a skill that needs to be crafted to a specific level of excellence.  Speaking of communication I also like to hone my listening abilities.

I like to be a contributor to society and provide whatever is lacking.
If a job is there, that nobody wants to do, I will do it according to my ability to do it.  In the end, I get a blessing as well in improvement.

A Good Friend

Bernard Demaere

A good friend is patient,

He can wait a moment.

He listens and waits for his turn

He does not rush into things or friendships.

He is kind and not harsh,

He is sensitive to your needs.

He is kind, but not blind,

He will let you know gently.

He does not want what you have,

He wants your best.

If you have done your best,

He is happy for you.

He does not think he is so special,

And that he is better than yourself.

He can let you win and not be hurt,

He wants to serve you, you are the best.

A good friend is always courteous,

He is a true gentle man.

His words are full of wisdom,

 And his actions shows it.

 He is not always preoccupied,

With his own interests and likes.

He does not try to manipulate you,

In doing what he wants to do.

It is not easy for him to become angry,

He would rather talk about it right away.

If you have done something wrong to him,

He forgets it, he keeps a short list.

A good friend will not laugh at you,

Especially, if you get hurt.

He will always encourage you,

And help you succeed.

Even when others have turned away,

Because the going for you was rough.

You know you have a good friend,

If he is one who stays.
